Illustration: "Be Innovative" T-Shirt
Client: Tapjoy
While I was working at Tapjoy, the design team gave the company brand a 360 degree overhaul. We transformed the face of Tapjoy on the web, in our social media, in presentations, and, most importantly, in the customer-facing UI of the platform. At the same time, Tapjoy’s executive team had collaborated to create a new company mission, vision and list of core values. To celebrate the official relaunch of the brand and rally hundreds of team members around the world, our team created T-shirts. The shirts underscore the company values, and celebrate the legacy of video games.
My illustration (above) is modeled after Atari’s Space Invaders. It highlights Tapjoy’s statistics and bears the headline “Innovative,” one of the company’s values. The shirts were screen-printed using three tones of ink, so the illustration needed to be simple, yet have depth. Below are the three color schemes I devised for this project.
The final version of the T-shirts was very successful—these were the kind of company shirts people weren’t embarrassed to wear outside of the office. The tri-tone printing process presented an exciting challenge and helped me to further hone my illustration skills.
